As you discovered in Chapter two, Allah cannot lower himself to have a son. If he can have no son, then he cannot have children. “Allah, the god revealed in the Qur’an, is not a loving Father.”1) In fact, he is not a father image at all to Muslims. It is beneath Allah to be a father to anyone human. Muslims are therefore spiritual orphans—children of the Creator, but without a father.
To which the Apostle Paul might advise a Muslim believer, “Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty” (2 Corinthians 6:17-18).
